The Barrier Reef and Beyond

Imagine riding your Harley up the beautiful Queensland coast visiting top spots along the way, then finding yourself swimming with the sea life on the Great Barrier Reef. And that's only the half of it…

Coastal roads, coastal towns and villages all the way to Cairns and the Daintree Rainforest make this one of Australia’s most sought after motorcycle rides. We’ll stop at the best places the coast has on offer – Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg (the famous rum is made here… yes we will) Maryborough, Rockhampton (fresh steak anyone?), Airlie Beach, Townsville and Cairns to name but a few places.

Once in Port Douglas, we’ll get you sorted on a Great Barrier Reef diving expedition and your visit to the Daintree and the rainforests of far north Queensland. If you’ve seen photos of the reef and this region you definitely won’t want to miss the opportunity to see it with your own eyes.

On the way back to Brisbane we’ll head inland to Atherton and its fantastic hillclimb and winding roads. We'll get our mate who lives up there to lead the way on perfect riding roads that only locals like him know about. After we leave the Tablelands, we’ll head further inland to experience the ‘outback’, going through Charters Towers and Hughenden on our way to Longreach. Here you will get a real taste of Australia and how the ‘other half’ live. Longreach is famous for the Qantas Founder’s Museum, the Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Cobb and Co Stagecoach and the best steaks in all of Australia.

A couple of days later, after visiting a few more outback towns along the way, we’ll find ourselves back in Brisbane wishing this ride had not come to an end so soon. Yes, it is 13 days at a somewhat relentless pace… but we know you’ll love it! You’re all big bike riders after all.
