The Red Centre PLUS
Saddle up folks, this one is going to be quite a ride. From the nearbyBlue Mountains to the big red rock in the middle of the outback, then back on beautiful coastal roads. This trip showcases it all!
It’s what every Australian motorcycle rider wants to do. Leaving Sydney early in the day to climb over, look around and stay in the beautiful and historic Blue Mountains at Jenolan Caves. From there it’s into the ‘outback’ on a 2-day journey to Broken Hill, Silverton, Mundi Mundi and the surrounding areas. After two nights stay in the ‘Hill’ it’s off to Coober Pedy and its eclectic underground accommodation. Two more nights there and we’re heading to the big red rock (Uluru) in the centre of Australia. Uluru is 9km in circumference and to walk around it and see the sun rise and set over it, is a sheer delight.
Two days later we’ll head to the dramatic Kings Canyon. Bring your hiking boots so you can climb to the rim of the canyon and take in a vista so grand it will literally take your breath away (or is it the climb that does that). Next it’s off to Alice Springs. This is a real eye-opening town in the middle of nowhere and well worth exploring the local pubs with their laconic Australian locals.
After leaving Alice, we head south to Port Augusta and further down the coast to the world famous Great Ocean Road. You will want to do this road at least twice – once for the spectacular views and then again for the sheer delight of riding the bends.
Now it's time to head back to Sydney via Melbourne (Australia’s second largest city) and the magnificent riding roads of the Snowy Mountains. All up this tour will treat you to a wealth of experiences… you’ll practically be an honouree ‘Aussie’ by the end of this trip.
